I professionally polish and expertly enhance all types of text – from magazines, websites and marketing material to books, dissertations and reports.
If you’re not sure whether your project needs basic proofreading or extensive editing (or something in between), don’t worry. We can work this out together. |
1 Basic proofreadHappy with what you’ve written but need help to weed out those tricky, hard-to-spot errors? This option’s for you.
Think of this as the final quality control stage before your text is published. Includes checks for spelling, punctuation, grammar, accuracy, consistency and sense. From £10 per 1,000 words. Student discount: from £9 per 1,000 words. |
2 Proofread deluxeLooking for feedback on how to make your writing even better, but feel your words don’t need the deeper work that copy-editing involves? Option 2's probably for you.
It includes all the basics of an Option 1 proofread, plus added suggestions and advice to improve readability, clarity, flow and structure, etc. From £12 per 1,000 words. |
3 Copy-editingIf your writing needs some tender loving care (or even major surgery), in the form of rewriting and restructuring, copy-editing is the answer.
Copy-editing is shaping, reworking and rewriting raw text (known as ‘copy’), including checking for error, sense, consistency, repetition and ambiguity. Also looks at wider issues such as tone, tense, style, level, pace, structure, headings and cross-references. From £15 per 1,000 words. |
Minimum feesFor very small projects, I have a minimum charge. For proofreading it’s £40 (or £35 for students) and for editing it’s £50.
